Health News.A Citizen Health Service Center was inaugurated on Thursday in Tilottama-8, Rupandehi, under the slogan “My Health, My Responsibility.” The event was attended by Chief Guest Ram Krishna Khand, who emphasized the importance of health awareness in every household. He highlighted the need to adopt the practice of growing and consuming vegetables from one’s own garden under the motto “Own home, own farm, own produce.”
Deputy Mayor Jageshwari Devi Chaudhary remarked on how modern lifestyle choices contribute to diseases and urged people to prioritize quality food habits. She expressed concerns about the lack of knowledge about medicinal plants in the local forests and hoped that programs like this would spread awareness among citizens.
The program, chaired by Krishna Paudel, Ward Chair of Ward No. 8 and Chairperson of the Karahiya Health Post Management Committee, announced that the newly opened service center would provide healthcare services on the 10th and 25th of every month. He noted that the Ayurveda Health Center was established with a provincial investment of NPR 1 million, with additional support expected from the municipality for further management. He also informed about free maternity check-up services available on the 21st of every month.
Prakash Gyawali, the head of the Ayurveda Dispensary in Karahiya, emphasized the importance of using everyday kitchen items to prevent diseases rather than relying on hospitals after falling ill. He stressed the need to educate the younger generation about medicinal herbs and their benefits.
Ravi Century, coordinator of the Social Development Committee and Municipal Executive, highlighted the prioritization of health as a social responsibility and expressed commitment to extending Ayurvedic practices to the broader public.
The program, coordinated by Krishna Pandey, Chief of Karahiya Health Post, provided health benefits to over 235 residents. Organized by the Ayurveda Branch of Tilottama Municipality in collaboration with the Karahiya Health Post, the event included free health check-ups using Ayurvedic methods, which were well-received by the locals.
